Adam H. Weinert and Logan Frances Kruger
Saturday, August 30, 6pm │ Free and open to the public
As part of 20 Dancers for the XX Century, a living archive project at the Museum of Modern Art, Adam H. Weinert and Logan Frances Kruger were invited to reconstruct early solo work by the pioneering choreographer Ted Shawn. In a creative residency at the Opera House, the dancer/choreographers continue their investigation into this early branch of contemporary dance history. The residency culminates with performances of solo and duet material from the 1930’s-1960's by Ted Shawn and two of his descendants, Doris Humphrey and José Limón – some which has not seen in nearly fifty years – alongside new choreography inspired by the lineage left behind.
